Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about Nexus Market operations, security protocols, payments, and vendor policies.
Getting Started
Nexus Market is a decentralized darknet marketplace established in November 2023. It functions as a peer-to-peer directory connecting buyers and vendors for the exchange of digital and physical goods. The platform prioritizes user security, offering an intuitive interface, strong encryption standards, and a robust escrow system without requiring vendor bonds.
Access requires the Tor Browser to resolve .onion Hidden Service addresses. Standard browsers like Chrome or Firefox cannot access these links. Once you have Tor installed and configured (set security to 'Safer'), use a verified mirror link from our Links page to connect securely.
Registration is free and does not require an email address or personal information. You simply need to choose a unique username, a strong password, and a PIN (for withdrawals). We strongly recommend setting up a PGP key immediately after registration to enable 2FA and encrypted communication.
Security & Privacy
Phishing is a major threat. Nexus Market signs its mirrors with an official PGP key. On the login page, you will see a PGP-signed message. You should verify this signature against the market's public key (found on reliable forums like Dread) to ensure you are not on a fake site designed to steal your credentials.
PGP Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is mandatory for all vendors to prevent account takeovers. While optional for buyers, we strongly recommend enabling it. It ensures that even if your password is compromised, an attacker cannot access your account without your private PGP key.
Darknet markets carry inherent risks. While Nexus Market implements strong security measures (encryption, no logs policy, anti-phishing), user operational security (OpSec) is crucial. Always encrypt your delivery address with the vendor's PGP key, use Monero for privacy, and never share personal information.
Payments & Escrow
Nexus Market accepts Bitcoin (BTC), Monero (XMR), and Litecoin (LTC). We strongly recommend Monero for all transactions due to its ring-signature privacy features, which make transactions virtually untraceable on the blockchain.
When you place an order, funds are held in the market's escrow wallet, not sent directly to the vendor. The vendor ships the item. Once you receive it and inspect it, you "Finalize" the order to release funds. If the item doesn't arrive or is defective, you can dispute the order, and market staff will intervene. Escrow times are set by vendors (7-21 days).
Walletless Pay allows you to pay for a specific order directly from your personal wallet without depositing funds into a market balance first. The system generates a unique invoice address for the exact order amount. This minimizes the risk of leaving idle funds on the marketplace (exit scam protection).
Bitcoin deposits require 1 blockchain confirmation. Monero deposits typically require 2-10 confirmations depending on network load. Funds usually appear in your balance within 30-60 minutes. If 2 hours pass with confirmed transactions but no balance, please contact support.
Orders & Vendors
No, Nexus Market does not charge a vendor bond. This policy is designed to allow new, quality vendors to join without high upfront costs. However, all vendors undergo strict vetting, and fraud is policed heavily. Scammers are banned immediately.
If an order hasn't arrived by the time the escrow timer expires, or if the product is wrong/defective, you can open a dispute. You have a 3-day window after escrow ends to do this. A moderator will review chat logs and evidence. Do not finalize an order if you intend to dispute it.
Nexus Market strictly prohibits: Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM), fentanyl and its analogues/synthetic opioids, weapons, explosives, poisons, murder-for-hire services, and doxxing information. Vendors listing these items are permanently banned.
Once logged in, you can access the Support Ticket system from your dashboard. Support is available 24/7. Please provide relevant transaction IDs or order numbers when creating a ticket to ensure a faster resolution.
FE means funds are released to the vendor immediately upon marking the order as shipped, bypassing escrow protection. Only highly trusted vendors are granted FE status. Buyers should exercise extreme caution when using FE, as funds cannot be recovered if the vendor scams or exits.
